If there is a God why is it that He allows people to experience pain and suffering? Because the universe came under the curse of God due to our sins. Before the fall of Adam and Eve, the world was perfect with no viruses, no natural disasters, no suffering, no pain and no death. Then Adam and Eve dissobeyed God and SIN came into the world. Because of this God would not allow fallen man to rule over a perfect creation. To compensate, God made the world imperfect to go along with mankind who had also become imperfect.

• And unto Adam he said, Because that hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. (Gen 3:19)
  
• Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; (Gen 3:18)
• In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (Gen 3:19)
• For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (Rom 1:18)
